#TheParrot says goodbye!
For the last five years, The Social Radio has been on a mission to make it fun, easy and safe to listen to Twitter content, and we are proud to say that we have helped hundreds of thousands of people all over the world do just that. #TheParrot has been reading millions of tweets, while you were driving, working, exercising, or as some of you told us, while having a shower :)
The Social Radio began as a side project (after I almost crashed while I was reading my tweets and driving at the same time :), raised money as a startup, and then became side project again when we couldn't scale it. We didn't see it getting big enough to have the impact we had hoped for, so we stopped updating the apps as our lives and jobs became busy, but people kept using them and we believed in the product, so we kept the apps running. But we have reached a point where the cost of running the apps cannot be covered, and we couldn't get enough support to keep it running.
It's been a great run, and the time has come to retire the apps, beginning today, The Social Radio will be shutting down.
We enjoyed working for each of you. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for using The Social Radio.
